Therefore, to understand how current businesses can focus not only on their financial outcomes but also empower shareholders and make them more accountable toward a social goal. Thus, the idea of progressive business is to improve the experience of shareholders to make them more accountable for making a positive impact on the people. However, what people does it talk about? People within a company or society overall? This is where the notion of "progressive business" needs to be improved.

As important as to keep profit maximization and social responsibility balanced within a business, government needs to have more involvement in businesses in order to help them achieve a real positive social outcome, not only for shareholders and employees but for the world in general.
